A Combat Controller with the 21st Special Tactics Squadron, SrA Forester was posthumously awarded the Silver Star. He was killed in action in Uruzgan Province while exposing himself to enemy fire to save a fallen teammate. During an intense battle, a Special Forces teammate was fatally wounded by sniper fire. SrA Forester, without hesitation, left the safety of his covered position and bounded through heavy machine gun and sniper fire to reach his comrade. While attempting to maneuver to the fallen soldier and actively coordinating close air support to suppress the enemy ambush, he was fatally struck. SrA Forester's ultimate sacrifice embodied the highest ideals of brotherhood and valor, leaving a lasting legacy in the Special Tactics community.
